McLennan County 4-H had great success at the 2009 State Roundup in College Station


The Livestock Judging Team with team members Emily Jackson, Brant Embry, Laramie Priest, and Taylor Haliburton placed 3rd overall our of 97 teams and winning a trip to judge at the American Royal Livestock Show in Kansas City on November 1st. This team also placed 2nd in the swine division and 1st in the sheep and goat division. Team member Emily Jackson placed 1st overall out of 278 judgers along with 4th in the swine division, 2nd in the sheep and goat division, 2nd in the beef division, and 1st in reasons.


McLennan County's second livestock judging team of Dalton Meurer, Connor Jackson and Christy Jones placed 28th and was the 2nd place team from District 8.


Other successes at State Roundup Included:


Emily Jackson placing first in the Public Speaking contest and Connor Jackson placing 9th in the Public Speaking Contest where there were 26 participants.


Jessica Garrett received a Blue honor for her photography.


Member of the MCH 4-H Club also participated in contest at Roundup.
